District's Religious Community Task Force's Conference Offers Advice to Faith-based Organizations

DALLAS--WHAT: Sponsored by the DISD Religious Community Task Force, the Child of Hope Conference is designed to help faith-based organizations learn how they can work with public schools and make a difference in their community.

WHO: Members of the Religious Community Task Force and DISD staff will conduct sessions and workshops at the Child of Hope Conference. Also, the conference will feature Carl Youngberg with Concepts3 and longtime consultant for the Texas Education Agency.

WHY: To provide practical advice on how faith-based organizations can establish partnerships with Dallas public schools. These partnerships can be as simple as collecting school supplies or providing volunteers to be tutors and mentors.

WHEN: Scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, October 19
