New Program To Focus On District Activities, Events and Issues
DALLAS—Beginning Tuesday, November 13, the Dallas Independent School District's Communication Services department will begin airing Dallas Schools Roundtable, a 30-minute live television show that will air two nights each week on DSTV and on Saturdays on local television station KPXD-PAX.
The program will be hosted by DISD's Communication Services Executive Manager Donald J. Claxton. During each program, Claxton will be joined by guests selected from throughout the district and the Dallas area.
"We are excited about Dallas Schools Roundtable and what it will mean toward better educating the public about events, activities and issues associated with the DISD," Claxton said. "Even in this Internet Age, television remains the best source for communicating with the public. With this show, we are using the tools we have to reach out to the people of Dallas and let them know we are doing our best to build better schools for the community."
The program will air on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on AT&T Cable Channel 15-B and on Channel 65 on digital cable. On Saturdays, both shows will air back-to-back on PAX at 5 a.m. on Channel 26.
The show's first guests will be Rene Martinez, the director of the DISD's new Youth Mentoring Initiative, and Rob Alberts, the Dallas area executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters. During the show, viewers may call (972) 925-3123 to ask questions.
