10 High School Choirs, Bands, Actors Perform a 'Tribute To Patriotism', 29 Veterans Receive High School Diploma

DALLAS–WHAT: A Patriotic Assembly and World War II Veterans Diploma Ceremony

WHEN: Friday, November 9 at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Loos Fieldhouse, 3815 Spring Valley Road.

WHY: A "Tribute to Patriotism" is a program designed to honor all the veterans who have fought to keep freedom alive in America. During a special ceremony, 30 veterans who left school before they graduated from the Dallas Independent School District will receive their diplomas.

WHO: General Superintendent Mike Moses and Board President Ken Zornes will join Skyline High School student body president, North Dallas High School JROTC, Bryan Adams High School Band, W. H. Adamson High School Ensemble, Thomas Jefferson High School Band, Lincoln High School Ensemble, James Madison High School Ensemble, W. W. Samuell High School Sign Language Choir, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Players and Wind Ensemble and Woodrow Wilson High School Choir.

How: Student bands, choirs, players and ensembles will perform songs from Star-Spangled Banner to This Land Is Your Land and read prose and portions of U.S. historic documents such as the constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

Moses along with Zornes will present the veterans their high school diplomas from the schools in which they left to serve the country in World War II.
