District Officials Hopes to Fill More Than 100 Vacancies at Job Fair, Dec. 1

DALLAS–With more than 100 teacher vacancies, the Dallas Independent School District has scheduled an end of the year job fair from 8 a.m. 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 1, at Moisés E. Molina High School, 2355 Duncanville Road.

Candidates must go through a screening phase before they are granted an interview with the campus principals at the job fair. The screening process is from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Prospective applicants must have a minimum bachelor's degree with a 2.5 grade point average. Job fair participants should bring references, transcripts and teaching certificate or college letter of recommendation for certification.

After the screening phase, applicants who qualify will be interviewed by school principals. The interview phase is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The salary range for teachers in DISD is from $34,100 to $59,267. Annual stipends range from $500 to $3,000 depending on the teaching area.

Prospective candidates who cannot attend the upcoming job fair should mail copies of their resume, transcripts, college letter of intent or certification to DISD–HF, 3807 Ross Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75204 or fax (972) 925-4300.

So far this year, the district has hired 1,383 educators bringing its teaching pool to 10,500. As the second largest school district in Texas, DISD has 218 schools serving 163,763 students.
