DALLAS–The general superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District will be presented a commendation from the National Selective Service Board today, November 9, at the district's Patriotic Assembly and World War II Veterans Diploma Ceremony.

During a special ceremony, 29 veterans who left school before they graduated from the Dallas Independent School District will receive their diplomas.
Student bands and choirs will perform at the program while students from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts will read prose and portions of U.S. historic documents such as the constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
