TRANSCRIPT OF DR. MIKE MOSES FOLLOWING UNANIMOUS VOTE BY BOARD ON $1.366 BILLION BOND ELECTION PROPOSAL
DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 9-0 on Monday to put a $1.366 billion bond election proposal before voters on Jan. 19, 2002.
After the vote, Superintendent Mike Moses made the following comments:
"Just a moment of personal thanks to all of you for that … profound and splendid display of unity. Thank you, very, very much. I am grateful to all of you. Thank you for your unselfishness during the last several weeks, particularly as we have worked to bring this proposal forward. As I have said repeatedly, each of you in meeting with me has expressed an interest in what is best for the entire school district. And I can't think of a time when I would have been any more proud to have worked for a board of trustees. You have been great and I salute you tonight for that vote.
"…at this moment in time, I think we find out district as united as we can possibly be. … We are working with a tremendous amount of unity and a tremendous amount of momentum. And hopefully we can sustain that," Dr. Moses said.
