Series of Information Fairs Begin January 31
DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District will host the first of three information fairs about the district's Alternative Certification program Thursday, January 31, at Nolan Estes Plaza Mini-Theater, 3434 S. R. L. Thornton Frwy.
The application deadline is April 12. The 2002-2003 training cycle for new applicants begins June 3. At the fairs, participants will have an opportunity to view a slide show and ask questions about the program and employment benefits offered by the DISD.
The Alternative Certification program trains professionals with degrees in fields other than teaching for a career in education. Among the requirements, applicants must have a four-year college degree from an accredited college or university; an overall 2.5 grade point average from all colleges and universities attended or a 2.75 grade point average in the last 60 hours of coursework.
Fair dates are listed. All meetings start at 6:30 p.m.
