DALLAS—Score two more victories for the Dallas Independent School District's Lincoln High School boys basketball team—National Champions—according to the ranking of the "super 25" teams in the nation by USA Today and the National Prep poll.

The final 2002 national rankings appeared in the Tuesday edition of USA Today, featuring the team's 40-0 record with a brief recapping the season where Lincoln averaged 77 points a game, led by Georgia Tech-bound Chris Bosh, who averaged 20 points and 8.9 rebounds, and Southern Methodist-bound Bryan Hopkins, who averaged 16 points and 5.6 assists a game.

The team also received word Monday they were ranked Number One in the National Prep Basketball Poll.

During a celebration at Lincoln Tuesday morning, an announcement from USA Today was made which gave the team the number one national ranking. Blazers were presented to the athletic department from representatives of Nike to coach Leonard Bishop on behalf of the team and the school.

"We are honored by your dedication, your agility, your physical talents and your love of the game," said Superintendent Mike Moses. "We will always remember what you have accomplished on the court this season, but we must also encourage you and your peers to do your best in the classroom."

Lincoln's 4A title rival also appeared in the national rankings at 15 in USA Today and 12 in the National Prep poll. Beaumont Ozen lost to Lincoln 71-51 in the final game of the championship.
