DISD Students Celebrate Cino de Mayo

DALLAS–With May 5 on a non-school day, most of the Dallas Independent School District students are celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Friday, May 3.

Cinco de Mayo celebration is a national observance that commemorates Mexico's defeat of French invaders in 1862. Schoolchildren across the district are celebrating this holiday with jamaicas, fiestas, special programs and assemblies.
