45 Junior Achievement Volunteers Teach K–2 Classes
DALLAS—Students enrolled in kindergarten through second grade at Charles Gill Elementary will see a new face at the chalkboard on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Junior Achievement's "Done in a Day" program brings 45 volunteers from Compass Bank locations across the metroplex to the school to teach and inspire 465 students about the value of free enterprise and economics. The business volunteers have been trained to provide interactive lessons with hands-on materials that are developmentally and age appropriate.
To reinforce the importance of higher education, Gill faculty and staff will wear clothing featuring the names of their alma maters, and will speak to students about the college experience.
The school is located at 10910 Ferguson Road.
