Information Fair will be at Hillcrest High School
DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District Alternative Teacher Certification Program will host an information fair for persons interested in pursuing a career in teaching Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Hillcrest High School, 9924 Hillcrest ave.
Participants will have an opportunity to view a slide show and talk to a director and program specialist. Candidates are being recruited for the following areas: Early Childhood, English as a Second Language, Elementary Generalist, Bilingual Generalist, Mathematics, Science, Elementary Generalist, Technology, Spanish, Reading, Theatre Arts, Speech, Journalism, Music, Art, and Generic Special Education. The 2003-2004 training cycle begins in June.
The Alternative Certification program trains professionals with degrees in fields other than teaching for a career in education. Among the requirements, applicants must have a four-year college degree from an accredited college or university; an overall 2.5 grade point average from all colleges and universities attended or a 2.75 grade point average in the last 60 hours of coursework.
