348 DISD Employees To Be Honored at Retirement Dinner May 12

Associate Superintendent of Human Resource Services Willie Crowder To Retire After 33 Years

DALLAS—A reception and dinner to thank 348 retiring Dallas Independent School District employees will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 300 Reunion Blvd.

The combined service for this year's retirees totals 9,561 years. This includes eight employees who have worked for the district for at least 40 years. Among the retirees are 236 teachers, four assistant principals and 8 principals.

"There is no nobler cause than public education," said General Superintendent Mike Moses. "These employees have dedicated their lives to the education of the Dallas Independent School District's students. They are the backbone of the DISD and we want to thank them for their dedication and years of service."

Retiring after 33 years, Willie Crowder, Associate Superintendent of Human Resource Service, will be honored. Crowder began here career in the Dallas Independent School District in 1968 as a social studies teacher at Boude Storey Middle School. Later, Mrs. Crowder moved on to administrative roles by becoming an assistant principal at Longfellow Middle School.

Crowder went on to serve at Lanier and Hood and became principal at M.B. Henderson. She later made the move to Human Resource Services where she served as a recruiter, operations executive, assistant superintendent, and associate superintendent her current assignment.
