Second Stop will be at Adelle Turner ElementaryDALLAS—Superintendent Mike Moses will greet teachers and students at two Dallas schools Monday, August 18—the first day of classes in the Dallas Independent School District.
Moses will greet Principal Jan Jones and welcome students as they arrive at 7:40 a.m. at Martha Turner Reilly Elementary, 11230 Lippitt.
At 9:15 a.m., Dr. Moses will make a stop at Adelle Turner Elementary, 5505 South Polk St. to meet with Principal Alford Tribble and visit third grade classes.
Superintendent Moses will be available at 4 p.m., to the media for an overview of the day's events in the board room, School Administration Building, 3700 Ross Ave.
Total enrollment in district schools this year is expected to reach 164,624 students.

To ease the confusion of the first days of classes, the district has set up a parent hotline to address school-related concerns. Parents should call 972-925-5437 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 18-19 to receive information about bus routes, applications for free and reduced-lunch, immunization requirements, school locations, hours of operation and other school-related concerns. From Aug. 20-22, the hotline will operate from 7:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
