New Recruits Sought for 2004-2005 School Year
DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District will host five informational fairs for persons interested in the Alternative Teacher Certification Program Oct. 27 at Marsh Middle School, 3838 Crown Shore Dr.
Applicants are currently being recruited for the 2004-2005 training cycle, which begins in June 2004.
Participants will have the opportunity to view a slide show, talk to the program staff, and learn about the new federal guidelines of "No Child Left Behind" and its impact on teacher certification. The program alternatively certifies in the following areas: Early Childhood - Grade 4 (elementary generalist, bilingual generalist, English-as-a-Second-Language); Grades 4-8 (elementary generalist, English/Reading/Language Arts, mathematics, science, math/science, English-as-a-Second-Language, Grades 8-12 (mathematics, science, technology, Spanish, English/Language Arts/Reading); and Early Childhood – Grade 12 (generic special education, music, art).
