Faulkner To Announce Longhorn Opportunity Scholarships for DISD Students
DALLAS—Superintendent Mike Moses will welcome Dr. Larry Faulkner, president-University of Texas, to the Dallas Independent School District as Faulkner announces the annual Longhorn Opportunity Scholarships at Lincoln High School at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19.
The Longhorn Opportunity Scholarships program, designed to identify students who might not have otherwise had the opportunity to attend the university, provides students with the resources and attention that will help them to succeed academically and ultimately become alumni of The University of Texas at Austin. Last year, eight Lincoln students were awarded these scholarships, each one valued at $20,000 over four years.
The UT visiting team also will speak to about 85 seniors at Skyline High School at 9 a.m.
