Kathy Coffman Elected Texas PTA Regional Vice President
DALLAS– Pam Meyercord, past president of the Dallas Council of PTAs, was named president of Texas PTA at the organization's annual convention last month.
Meyercord was recognized for her commitment to full participation of parents in schools and with the Parent Teacher Associations and Parent Teacher Student Associations across the state of Texas. Most recently, Meyercord held the office of Texas PTA First Vice President, but over the years as the mother of three DISD graduates she served as PTA president of J.J. Pershing Elementary and Benjamin Franklin Middle schools, president of the Dallas Council of PTAs and chairperson of DISD's Partners in Education Advisory Committee.
In addition to Meyercord's 25 years of volunteer service to the Dallas Independent School District, she has also served as president of the Women's Council of Dallas County and Young Audiences of Greater Dallas, and has been an active member and committee chairperson of Junior League of Dallas.
At the February Texas PTA Convention, Kathy Coffman, Dallas Council of PTAs president was elected Texas PTA Region IV Vice-President. Coffman is the mother of three DISD graduates, and has served as PTA president of J.J. Pershing Elementary School.
National PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the United States, with nearly 6.5 million members working in 26,000 local chapters in all 50 states with this goal: PTA supports every child – with one voice.
Meyercord and Coffman were recognized at a reception Wednesday, March 3, sponsored by the Dallas Independent School District and the Board of Managers of the Dallas Council of PTAs.
