DISD Trustee Ron Price Sponsors Event at Forester Field
DALLAS– Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders will judge DISD student cheer teams competing in the Ron Price Cheer Fest 2004, Saturday, April 3, 8 a.m., at Forester Field, 8233 Military Parkway.
Sponsored by Board Trustee Ron Price, the event is the first of its kind. "Cheer Fest 2004 will allow students in the district the opportunity to participate in a positive competition while showcasing their skills," said Price. Synchronization, timing, formations, choreography and dance techniques are a few of the areas in which the 26 registered teams will be assessed.
Students competing in the event range from grades K-12, and at the high school level the categories include varsity, junior varsity and co-ed. Routines will be a maximum of five minutes each, and must be age-appropriate. All participants will receive T-shirts, and trophies will be presented in each category.
Radio personalities from K104/KKDA will add a festive flavor to the event, which is open to the public for a small admission charge.
