DISD-Sponsored Event To Be Held at Chavez Learning Center
DALLAS–Parents and community members are invited to voice their comments about after-school programming at the Dallas Independent School District's annual communitywide public hearing, Keeping the Lights on After School, Thursday, April 22, 6 p.m. at Cesar Chavez Learning Center, 1710 N. Carroll Ave.
Bilingual translators and deaf education interpreters will be available at the hearing to facilitate communication with parents. For further information about the hearing, call the Extended Day Programs office at (972) 794-3650.
The event will feature food, prizes, and entertainment by after-school program folklorico dancers from Cesar Chavez Learning Center and Ignacio Zaragoza Elementary School and the Thomas Tolbert Elementary School Majorettes.
Community-based organizations such as the YMCA, YWCA, Camp Fire Boys and Girls, Junior Players, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Dallas Park and Recreation will sponsor informational booths at the hearing. Babysitting will be available at no cost to parents.
