Clinics Begin Sept. 18 at District Schools
DALLAS—Dallas Independent School District students at four district schools have been invited to attend the Eduardo Nájera Basketball Clinics in the Community starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Julian T. Saldivar Elementary School, 9510 Brockbank Dr.
Najera and a coaching staff will instruct the students on various elements of basketball and team building techniques.
Competitions include a free-throw contest, shooting and ball handling contest, with emphasis on participation. Participants will receive a certificate of achievement signed by Nájera and a t-shirt.
Clinics will be held in the gym of the schools listed:
4 p.m. Sept. 30 Anson Jones Elementary, 3901 Meredith Ave.
1 p.m. Oct. 1 Winnetka Elementary, 1151 S. Edgefield Ave.
11 a.m. Oct. 2 Cary Middle School, 3978 Killion Dr.
Nájera is a recipient of the Chip Hilton Player of the Year Award from the Basketball Hall of Fame, an award presented to a player who has demonstrated personal character on and off the court.
