Attendance Boundary Meetings Set to Discuss Adjustments Caused by Bond Program

Changes Made to Previously Announced Schedule

DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District's trustees will continue to meet with community members throughout October and November to brief parents about proposed attendance boundary changes necessary because of the addition of 21 new schools through the 2002 Bond Program.

Nearly all attendance boundaries in the district must be modified to ensure that school space is being used wisely and overcrowding that presently exists can be relieved.

During the meetings, DISD trustees and district staff brief residents about proposed changes to attendance areas. Handouts and large maps are available for viewing. The first of such meetings took place at Anson Jones Elementary on Oct. 7. Remaining meetings are listed:

Oct. 18—Ron Price-James Madison High School Media Center-6:30 p.m.
Oct. 19—Hollis Brashear- Kimball High School auditorium-6:30 p.m.
Oct. 21—Ken Zornes-E.D. Walker Elementary School auditorium-6:30 p.m.
Oct. 25—Joe May-David Burnet Elementary auditorium, 6:30 p.m.
Oct. 26—Lew Blackburn-Yvonne E. Ewell Townview Center Theater-7 p.m.
Nov. 1—Nancy Bingham-H. Grady Spruce High School auditorium-6 p.m.
Nov. 3—Lois Parrott-Robert T. Hill Middle School auditorium-6 p.m.
Nov. 9—Jack Lowe-Hillcrest High School cafeteria-6:30 p.m.
