Highland Meadows Elementary First to be Dedicated

DALLAS–Interim General Superintendent Larry Groppel will join Board of Trustees President Lois Parrott, City Councilman Gary Griffith, students, staff and community members for the dedication of Highland Meadows Elementary School, 8939 Whitewing Lane, 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24.

Highland Meadows cheerleaders will greet guests as they arrive. The program will include remarks from city and district officials and Principal Jan Jones, along with an overview of the school design from Jack Hill, associate superintendent–Construction Services.

Following the program, guests will be invited to enjoy refreshments and tour the school.

Central to an established neighborhood, Highland Meadows Elementary School is a two-story facility including a media center, cafeteria, gymnasium and specialized art and science classrooms. The 91,000-square-foot facility provides 39 instructional classrooms for up to 800 students. The construction project was managed by Jacob/Pegasus and built by Coronado Builders. Brown Reynolds Watford Architects Inc. designed the building.
