Irma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School students will deliver invitations to community
DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District officials will be joined by parents, students and community leaders to celebrate the inauguration of Irma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School, the first public single-gender school in Texas, Sunday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m., 3801 Herschel Ave.
The school has an enrollment of 123 seventh and eighth grade students.
Larry Groppel, interim general superintendent; Carolyn Bailey, Area 5 superintendent; Vivian Taylor, principal; Dr. Lois Parrott, president, Board of Trustees; Joe May, District 8; State Sen. Royce West; a student body representative and members from the Rangel family are scheduled to be present at the ceremony.
A tour of the school and refreshments will follow the inaugural ceremony.
