DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District's nine trustees have scheduled separate meetings throughout the district in October and November in order to brief parents about proposed attendance boundary changes that are necessary because of the addition of 21 new schools through the 2002 Bond Program.
Because so many new schools are being added throughout the district, nearly all attendance boundaries must be modified to ensure that school space is being used wisely and overcrowding that presently exists can be relieved.
The first meeting will be held by Trustee Jerome Garza, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Anson Jones Elementary School. The school is located at 3901 Meredith Street.
During the meeting, Garza and DISD staff will brief residents in his district about proposed changes to the attendance boundaries in his area schools. Handouts and large maps will be available for viewing during the meeting.
