Uniforms for All Students Under Consideration by DISD Trustees

2 Nov 2004

Survey to be distributed to district families

DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees is considering requiring that all students wear a uniform for the 2005-2006 school year.

More than 100 district schools already follow a voluntary or mandatory uniform policy.

As part of the evaluation process, the district is surveying 16,000 parents to get their opinions on the proposed dress code change.

The survey, in English and Spanish, will be mailed to parents selected at random and it is due Nov. 12 at the school where the student is enrolled.

Others interested in sharing their opinion or making suggestions may write to DISD Board of Trustees, 3700 Ross Avenue, Box 1, Dallas, Texas 75204.
