Academies Scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13
DALLAS–Students, parents and the community in Dallas Independent School District Area 6 are invited to attend one of three parent academies that will be offered simultaneously from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 13, at the following schools:
• Raúl Quintanilla Sr. Middle School, 2700 Remond
• Moisés E. Molina High School, 2355 Duncanville Rd.
• W.E. Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy, 501 S. Edgefield.
Workshops are offered in English and Spanish. Some of the topics include compulsory attendance; accessing district services such as discipline management and truancy reduction and addressing the needs of special needs children. Other topics are test-taking strategies for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills exam and how to prepare for college as well as information about the resources available in the schools from that area.
