Jaramillo Graduated from Sunset in 1970
DALLAS–Among the Texas Rangers Winter Caravan stops Tuesday, Jan. 25, hitting coach, Sunset High School graduate Rudy Jaramillo, will visit his Alma Mater to share a couple of minutes with the students.
A school assembly honoring Jaramillo, who graduated in 1970, is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the school, located at 2120 W. Jefferson.
Jaramillo is the first player in the Texas Rangers Baseball team's history to serve more than eight years on the major league coaching staff. Jaramillo is in his ninth season as the team's hitting instructor since appointed in October 1994.
During his high school years, Jaramillo not only played baseball at Sunset High School, he was also a football and track team member.
