DISD Students Collect Over $58,000 in Coins for Common Cents

Donations Will Be Presented To 31 Non-Profit Agencies

DALLAS—Dallas Independent School District students and Interim Superintendent Larry Groppel at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb.10, will hold a news conference to announce the recipients of more than $58,000 collected during the Common Cents campaign.

Common Cents is a student-led coin collection effort designed to raise money for charity and non-profit organizations while encouraging good citizenship and social responsibility in school children.

Students from 50 DISD elementary, middle and high schools will make presentations to more than 31 local non-profit organizations in the School Administration Building Auditorium, 3700 Ross Ave.
