Grade Reconfigurations and Feeder Changes Also Will Be In Effect For Fall 2005
DALLAS–In an effort to reduce growth population in schools, the Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees has approved attendance zone changes for the fall of 2005 after a series of public meetings were held throughout the district to gather input from the community.
"We wanted the community to have input in the process since the changes will impact their children," said Cecilia Oakeley, interim special assistant to the General Superintendent-Evaluation and Accountability Division. "As we bring new schools and additions to existing campuses over the next few years, the attendance zone changes will equalize the number of students in many schools which are overcrowded."
