Naming Ceremony Scheduled for Friday, April 29
DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District's Safety and Security Building will be named after William McDuff at a ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, April 29, 1402 Seegar Street.
At age 63, McDuff was the first African American employed by the Dallas Police Department. On Christmas Day in 1896, and two months after being hired, McDuff was shot and killed in the line of duty.
District and Dallas Police Department's officials will attend the ceremony.
