27 Apr 2005

Performances Will Be at Molina and Sunset High Schools

DALLAS– Students from five schools in Dallas Independent School District Area 6 have joined their skills and talent to produce and perform in the musical Oliver.

The show's first run will be at Moisés Molina High School, 2355 Duncanville Road, May 5-7. The second run will be at Sunset High School, 2120 W. Jefferson Avenue, May 12-14.

"Involving different schools in the production of this musical provides students the opportunity to work with students and teachers from other schools," said Rachel Moon, teacher at Raúl Quintanilla Sr. Middle School.

"This also supports vertical teaming in the arts and brings musical theatre to our community."

Oliver is Charles Dickens' touching tale of an orphan boy who runs away from an orphanage in hopes to find his uncle and enjoy a family life.

Cast and crewmembers include students from W.H. Adamson High School, W.E. Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy, Moisés Molina High School, L.V. Stockard Middle School, Sunset High School and Raúl Quintanilla Sr. Middle School.

Ticket prices are $5 for students; $8 for adults; and $20 for a family pack (up to four people).
