New Superintendent To Visit Three Schools Thursday Morning, First Day On The Job
DALLAS—Dallas Independent School District Superintendent Michael Hinojosa is slated to begin his first day on the job by visiting three district schools and ending the day at a reception and dinner for almost 500 employees who will be retiring at the end of the school year.
Hinojosa will begin at B.F. Darrell Elementary School, a PreK-6 school with 323 students at 7:20 a.m. The school is located at 4730 S. Lancaster Road. (Special parking arrangements have been made for the early arrival of TV live trucks in the school's parking lot.) The superintendent will be available in front of the school for short interviews before beginning his tour of the building.
The superintendent is scheduled to arrive and tour Moises E. Molina High School located at 2355 Duncanville Road around 8:40 a.m. Around 9:45 a.m. he is scheduled to make a visit to T.W. Browne Middle School located at 333 Sprague Drive.
The superintendent does not have any other media availabilities planned for the day until he attends the reception and dinner honoring retiring district employees at 6:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, which is located at 300 Reunion Blvd. During this event he will bring greetings to the retiring employees and their families.
One employee to be honored is Alfred Carr, a supervisor at J. W. Ray Learning Center, who has been with the district for 44 years.
