4 Aug 2005

Dickies and Levine's present free uniforms to Dallas students

DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District will receive a donation for hundreds of free uniforms for low-income students from Dickies Workwear and Levine's Friday, Aug. 5, at 10:30 a.m., at the Big Tex Circle in the State Fair Park, 1300 Robert B. Cullum Blvd.

About 30 students from DISD will be present at the event wearing their new uniform and will help the 52-foot giant Big Tex to get into his new outfit which also will be donated by Dickies.

The DISD trustees approved the school uniform policy for grades prek-8 last spring. DISD starts its new mandatory school uniform policy this year consisting of Khaki, black or navy blue bottoms with white tops.
