Waiver Will Impact Start of the 2006-2007 School Year
DALLAS- The Dallas Independent School District will hold a public hearing on a calendar waiver request for the 2006-2007 school year, on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 3:45 p.m. in the Administration Bldg., 3700 Ross Ave.
The district is seeking public comment from parents, students and other patrons on its intent to request a waiver from the Texas Commissioner of Education to begin school on Aug. 14, 2006, one week prior to the date set by the Texas Education Agency.
If the waiver is approved, it will allow DISD students to complete the first semester of the 2006-2007 school year prior to winter break and to complete the second semester prior to Memorial Day.
