Celestino Mauricio Soto Jr. Elementary School to Serve West Oak Cliff

DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District officials will break ground on Celestino Mauricio Soto Jr. Elementary School at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 4510 West Jefferson Blvd.

The school is the 15th to be built under the 2002 Bond Campaign and was named after a DISD volunteer and advocate for special needs children. Soto served 15 years in the U.S. Navy and dedicated his life after the military to serving others.

The 91,000-square-foot facility will accommodate 800 students and will include 41 classrooms, kitchen, auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium and media center. It will relieve Mary McLeod Bethune, L.O. Donald, Anson Jones and George Peabody elementary schools.
