John Eagle Dealerships to Sponsor Emmy Award Winning Show
DALLAS—DISD's student-hosted television show, School Zone Dallas, will make its first appearance of 2006 on WFAA-Channel 8, this Wednesday, January 25, courtesy of John Eagle Auto Dealerships.
The program will air at 6:30 p.m., in place of Entertainment Tonight. In October, School Zone Dallas was honored with two Emmy Awards from the Lone Star Emmy chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
"John Eagle's willingness to sponsor School Zone Dallas on WFAA is appreciated by everyone within the Dallas Independent School District," said DISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa. "It provides our students an opportunity to show a side of DISD to the general public that they usually don't get to see."
The January 25 show will feature stories about a unique after-school ballet program at an inner-city school, job-shadowing opportunities for high school students and a middle school student who won't let anything get in the way of achieving her goals.
