Alumni and Community are invited to the Celebration
DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School Districts' Thomas Jefferson High School will commemorate the school's 50th anniversary with a kick-off celebration at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2006.
Thomas Jefferson High School opened in 1956. Festivities will take place in the school's auditorium and participants will include current students, faculty and alumni speakers. The school's award winning band, the Liberty Belle dance/drill team, and cheerleaders, will perform.
"The Thomas Jefferson High School 50th anniversary celebration represents a great opportunity for the personnel and alumni to acknowledge the dedicated work of students, educators and parents. This milestone allows us the opportunity to revel in the successes of the many people who make up the Thomas Jefferson High School family," said Manuel Ontiveros, principal.
Guests will be invited to participate in a balloon release and tour of the school. This program is part of a series of activities planned in 2006 to commemorate the anniversary. Congressman Pete Sessions will also attend the kick-off celebration.
Thomas Jefferson High School is located at 4001 Walnut Hill Lane (between Midway and Marsh).
