Meyerson To Host Service For DISD Trustee, Vietnam Vet
DALLAS—Dallas Independent School District officials are finalizing arrangements with the family of the late Board of Trustee, Joe May, 61, who died suddenly Friday night.
The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, which is located at 2301 Flora Street in Dallas.
During the service, a host of district, family, civic and community leaders will give their final regards to May. Choirs, musical groups and military color guards also will provide honors to the late trustee, who also was a Vietnam veteran.
Arrangements are being made with the Meyerson for a media parking area for morning television newscasts. The event will be open press, with members of the media being located in the Loge, with mult-box capabilities. There will be about a 130-foot throw from the media area to the stage.
The event is open to the public. Parking will be available for an hourly-rate at the intersections of Ross and Leonard, Cathedral and Flora, and the lot between the Nasher and the Meyerson.
