Committee of the Whole Meetings Will No Longer Be Held
DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District Board of Trustees has set a new schedule for board meetings beginning in April 2006.
The regular board meetings, which are held monthly on the fourth Thursday, now will begin at 5:30 p.m. A superintendent's report, trustee's bulletins and announcements, board resolutions and award presentations are traditional agenda items for the monthly board meeting. The regular board meetings are open to the public and held in the auditorium of the School Administration Building, 3700 Ross Ave.
Board briefings will be held the second Thursday of each month, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Public participation will begin at 11:30 a.m. on board briefing day. Speakers on board briefing day are limited to specific agenda items.
To address the board at either briefings or regular board meetings, the public may register until
5 p.m. on the day preceding the meeting at the Office of Board Services located in the DISD School Administration Building, or by calling (972) 925-3720. The earliest a person may register for an upcoming regular board meeting or an upcoming briefing is the next regular business day following the posting of that meeting.
Persons who have not addressed the board, but who are properly registered, may address the regular board meeting as to agenda items, policies, or matters of public concern.
