19 Apr 2006

Activities Are Scheduled for Friday, April 28

DALLAS–Students and staff at Ben Milam Elementary School will host an Earth Day celebration Friday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will show students the importance of protecting the earth and the environment for future generations.

"This will be one of the most important lessons we can teach our students that they will remember in their lifetime," said Michael DeMoss, sixth grade teacher at the school. "Not only will they benefit and learn from the activities, but they will also see how volunteers, parents, teachers and students can work together and make a difference to save our planet."

Throughout the day students will engage in activities related to recycling and preservation. Also, students and volunteers will work together on landscaping plants, trees, bushes and flowers.

The school is located at 4200 McKinney Ave.
