More than 400 DISD Students Will Benefit
DALLAS– As part of a new partnership between the Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Independent School District and the Fifth District Court of Appeals, more than 400 DISD students will witness the first court hearing to be held at a school Tuesday, April 25, at 9:30 a.m., Skyline High School, 7777 Forney Road.
The program will include actual oral arguments from attorneys on both sides of a case that is on appeal with a panel of three justices presiding. Additionally, two former justices will provide introductory and follow-up remarks to assist students in understanding the case and the judicial system.
Students from several DISD high schools will be present including: Skyline, Hillcrest, Woodrow Wilson, A. Maceo Smith, Law Magnet and Booker T. Washington, as well as members of Teen Board.
