Hinojosa will arrive at 7:30 a.m. to greet Principal Donna Treviņo-Jones and welcome students as they arrive at Leonides Gonzalez Cigarroa, M.D. Elementary School, 9990 Webb Chapel Road. He also will visit a kindergarten and first grade class.

Around 8:20 a.m., he will arrive at Jack Lowe Sr. Elementary School, 7000 Holly Hill Drive, to meet with Principal Constance Wallace, and then walk over to Sam Tasby Middle School, 7001 Fair Oaks Ave., and visit with Principal Paul Zevallos and students.

The last stop of the morning will be at Emmett J. Conrad High School, 7502 Fair Oaks Ave., where he will visit with Principal Donella Perry.

Superintendent Hinojosa will be available at 4 p.m. to the media for an overview of the day's events in the board room, School Administration Building, 3700 Ross Ave.

The district's projected enrollment this year is 160,902 students.

Also, to ease the confusion of the first day of classes, the district has set up a parent hotline to address school-related concerns. Parents should call (972) 925-5437 (KIDS) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 14-15, to receive information in English and Spanish about enrollment, bus routes, applications for free and reduced school lunches, immunization requirements, school locations, hours of operation and other school-related concerns.

From Aug. 16-18, the hotline will operate from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
