Employees Will Be 'Teaming Up for Greatness' on Wednesday, August 9
DALLAS–As part of the final preparations for the 2006-2007 school year, Dallas Independent School District employees will gather for a back to school kickoff on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 9:30 a.m., at the American Airlines Center, 2500 Victory Ave.
With the theme "Teaming Up for Greatness," the district's almost 20,000 employees will convene for the Dallas ISD Back-to-School Kickoff, presented by Ford.
The program will include the launch of the Dallas Education Foundation and remarks from Dallas ISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa.
Keith Harrell will deliver the keynote speech to district staff. Harrell is known nationally for his energetic presentations and for assisting organizations and individuals to redefine excellence.
The kickoff, which includes student performances, is scheduled to last about two-and-a-half hours and it's being completely underwritten by corporate donations. In addition to Ford, Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of America and JCPenny/IzodED are sponsoring the event.
