John Eagle Dealerships to Sponsor Three Special Editions of School Zone Dallas on WFAA-Channel 8
DALLAS—In addition to 12 new schools opening this year in the Dallas Independent School District, the 2006-07 school year brings a new cast for the student-hosted television show, School Zone Dallas.
The award-winning TV show will air three times this school year on WFAA-Channel 8 at
6:30 p.m., courtesy of John Eagle Dealerships. The first edition will air Wednesday, September 6. Additional programs will air on January 24 and April 18. The show will air in place of Entertainment Tonight.
Hosted from several of the district's new schools, the show will feature stories about Skyline's aviation cluster; Camp Thunderbird, a special enrichment program for students with disabilities; the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Latin Jazz Ensemble's trip to New York City, and a 76-year-old student who recently received her GED through the district's Adult Basic Education Program. Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) safety, and information on nutrition also will be highlighted.
This year's cast members include Hannah Guillory, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts; Poojah Sarkar, School of Science and Engineering at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center; Matthew George, Woodrow Wilson High School; Paula Teague, Skyline High School; Travon Brooks, Humanities/Communications Magnet at Lincoln High School; Alvaro Ramalho, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts; Jannet Ramos, W. T. White High School; Rudy Gutierrez, H. Grady Spruce High School; and Charlynda Henderson, A. Maceo Smith High School.
