Leonides Gonzalez Cigarroa, M.D. Elementary School Dedication Set for Oct. 27
DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District Trustee Adam Medrano and Deputy Superintendent Steve Flores will be joined by students, teachers and community members at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, to dedicate Leonides Gonzalez Cigarroa, M.D. Elementary School, 9990 Webb Chapel Road.
The school, located in northwest Dallas, is named for Laredo physician and civic leader Leonides Gonzalez Cigarroa, who was active in expanding educational opportunities for young people. Cigarroa's daughter Martha Cigarroa de Llano will speak to his legacy, and the new school's choir will perform, accompanied by the Thomas Jefferson High School band.
