Frank Guzick Elementary School Named for Former Skyline High Principal
DALLAS–Dallas Independent School District administrators and members of the district's Board of Trustees will join students, staff and community members at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, for the dedication of Frank Guzick Elementary School, located at 5000 Berridge Lane.
The school is named for Frank Guzick, who was a Dallas ISD teacher, coach and Skyline High School administrator. The school's dedication is scheduled to coincide with Skyline High School's homecoming and alumni activities, and to spotlight Guzick's contributions as a veteran. Guzick served in the U.S. Navy in WWII; after the war, he taught returning soldiers at Crozier Tech. To honor his legacy, flag presentations are planned from the offices of State Representative Terri Hodge and U.S. Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson. The Skyline High School JROTC will participate, and the Guzick choir will perform.
Other schools scheduled to be dedicated this fall include Celestino Mauricio Soto Jr., Jimmie Tyler Brashear and Jerry R. Junkins elementary schools. Four additional schools will be dedicated in the spring.
