School has previously received numerous awards for their blood donations
WHAT: Staff and students from Moisés E. Molina High School will host a blood drive.
WHEN: Friday, November 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: At the school's gym, 2355 Duncanville Road.
WHY: Through this project, Molina students, staff and community members will donate blood to save the lives of others that are in need of blood donations.
Last year, Molina High School was one of two schools in the nation to receive the "Difference Maker Award" from the National Association of Student Councils, honoring the school's project "Give it Up and Save Lives Blood Drive," through which the school donated more blood than all other Dallas ISD schools combined for the school year.
Given the Red Cross equation that every person who donates blood saves the lives of three adults or six babies, Molina High School saved 1,164 adult lives and the lives of 2,328 babies during the 2005-2006 school year.
Carter Blood Care also recognized the school for the following achievements during last year's blood drive project:
