Superintendent Hinojosa Announces Central Staff Realignment

14 Dec 2006

Changes to be effective January 2, 2007

Dallas—The Dallas Independent School District General Superintendent Michael Hinojosa today announced a realignment of his central administrative offices that includes title changes for some and an addition to his top staff.

"A reorganization of central administration, combined with the concentration and hard work of every Dallas ISD employee, will lead us to reaching our goal of becoming the best urban school district in the nation," said Hinojosa. "These changes will impact the core of the district in a positive way."

As part of the realignment, the title of deputy superintendent will no longer be used. Denise Collier will become Chief Academic Officer for Curriculum and Instruction, and Steve Flores will become Chief Administrative Officer for School Support Services. Ron Peace, who currently holds the post of deputy superintendent for Business Services, will become Chief of Staff.

Eric E. Anderson will join the district as Chief Operating Officer to oversee Business Services. Anderson most recently was chairman, president and CEO of Crescent Machinery Company in Fort Worth, a position he began in 2001.

Previously, Anderson held the same post at Aviall, Inc., Dallas, a distributor of aircraft parts, and was director for Corporate Planning at Land O’Lakes, Inc. in Minnesota. He has an MBA in Finance from Northwestern University, Chicago.

The Board of Trustees was briefed on the changes prior to their regularly scheduled board meeting on Thursday. These changes are effective January 2, 2007, when staff returns from the winter break.
