School Zone Dallas To Air On WFAA-Channel 8

John Eagle Dealerships to Sponsor Emmy Award-Winning Show

DALLAS—The Dallas Independent School District's student-hosted television show, School Zone Dallas, will make its first appearance of 2007 on WFAA-Channel 8 on Wednesday, January 24.

The multiple Emmy award-winning TV show will air on WFAA-Channel 8 at 6:30 p.m., courtesy of John Eagle Auto Dealerships. Besides airing on January 24, the show will also be seen on April 18 in place of Entertainment Tonight.

Hosted from several of the district's new schools, this edition of School Zone Dallas will take viewers inside Dallas ISD to learn more about the principals, teachers, students and schools making a positive impact in the district.

Featured stories include a group of teachers who moved from Spain to work in schools in Dallas' Pleasant Grove neighborhood; a unique way of teaching etiquette to students at a northeast Dallas elementary school; civic leaders who learn what it takes to be a principal for a day; and a high school principal who moonlights as the chief of security at Texas Stadium.

This year's cast members include Hannah Guillory, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts; Poojah Sarkar, School of Science and Engineering at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center; Matthew George, Woodrow Wilson High School; Paula Teague, Skyline High School; Travon Brooks, Humanities/Communications Magnet at Lincoln High School; Alvaro Ramalho, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts; Jannet Ramos, W. T. White High School; Rudy Gutierrez, H. Grady Spruce High School; and Charlynda Henderson, A. Maceo Smith High School.
