Dallas ISD Will Launch Employee News Line In February

29 Jan 2007

English and Spanish messages will include up-to-date information

DALLAS–The Dallas Independent School District employees will be able to access, Staying Connected, a district information line to be launched in February.

By dialing (972) 925-5550, district employees will be able to listen to a recorded message which will include important changes, dates and news, benefits information and emergency or last-minute information, such as weather-related closings.

The messages, which will be in English and Spanish, can be retrieved from any phone 24 hours a day.

"This will be another way of reaching those employees we have not been able to reach through the regular communications sources," said Deno Harris, division manager-Community Services. "Also, this will facilitate the information to those employees who don't have access to a computer. The line will be another source to keep every district department, division and employee on the same page, everyone will have access to the latest news in the district."

Callers will not be able to leave a message on this line, but contact information will be included in the message so that those employees with questions know who to reach.

Messages will be changed at least every two weeks. The line is expected to be available the first week of February.
