Dallas Cowboys' tight end Jason Witten to present check
DALLAS—Dallas Cowboys' tight end Jason Witten will present the Dallas Independent School District with a check for more than $26,000 from Washington Mutual as part of the Touchdowns for Tots program on Wednesday, January 31, at 1:30 p.m., at Rosemont Elementary School, 719 North Montclair Avenue.
The funds will be directed to Dallas Achieves!, the district's initiative to become the best urban school district in America by 2010.
For every touchdown scored by the Dallas Cowboys during the 2006 season, Washington Mutual agreed to donate $500 to the Touchdowns for Tots campaign. The Dallas Cowboys football team scored a total of 52 touchdowns during the 2006 season.
Dallas Achieves!, which includes realigning the curriculum at all levels and allocating resources more effectively, will provide the vehicle to make changes possible in every classroom in every Dallas ISD school.
